Christopher Michael Love, 41, of Milford, DE went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 15, 2022. Chris was born in Milford, the son of Cindy and Mike Love.
Chris was a graduate of Milford High School class of 1999. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioral Science from Wilmington University and his Masters of Social Work from Delaware State University. Chris has served in a multitude of clinical capacities, serving youth and adults including psychiatric centers, crisis programs, schools and outpatient-based residential treatment and wilderness therapy programs. He worked extensively with the Delaware Suicide Prevention Coalition in the implementation of several suicide prevention grant initiatives as a trainer, community liaison, and project coordinator. His certified therapy dogs, Memphis and Archie, were his co-workers in many of his efforts. He was currently serving as the School Social Worker at La Red’s school-based wellness center at Sussex Technical High School. Chris had recently started Love Counseling Services.
Launched by his teen experiences and having earned the Eagle Scout rank with Boy Scout Troop 186, Chris was a competent outdoorsman and seeker of adventure. He wasted no opportunity to enjoy camping, hiking, backpacking, bicycling and especially surf fishing with Lindsay and Archie. He loved to join family and friends playing cards, board games, darts and any ball game in the back yard. You could expect to find him many evenings by his backyard fire pit where all friends, critters, and interesting conversations were welcomed.
He is survived by his mother and father, Cindy (Bradley) and Mike Love; his fiancée Lindsay Fitzgerald; sisters Jenny Morgan (Dave) and Vicky Love; niece Maddy Kibler; nephews Ben Morgan and Jase Morgan; grandfather William S. Bradley; his beloved Golden Retriever Archie; and a host of very special aunts, uncles and cousins.
