Charles Ray Reed, age 90, of Milford, Delaware passed away on Sunday, December22, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 35 years, Alice Alexander Reed on May 2, 1989, and his second wife of 28 years, Alice Gillian Reed on February 11, 2021. He is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Kathy Hamstead (Norman) of Milford, Alisa West (Jack) of Georgetown, Terry Wilkins (Robert) of Seaford, and their families. (6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren). He is also survived by several half brothers and sisters.
Charles successfully owned and operated Reed’s Auto Parts & Service in Milford for over 40 years.
He was a veteran of the US Army, graduated from the 11 th Airborne Division Jump School and served as a member of 188 th Airborne Infantry Regiment. He was proud of his service and maintained a high level of patriotism to his country during his lifetime.
Charles was a Life Member of Ducks Unlimited, the National Rifle Association, and Moose Lodge. He was also a member of the Elks, IOOF Odd Fellows Lodge, and Honorary Member of the Carlisle Fire Company. As an avid hunter and outdoorsman, he was a founding member of the local Tall Pine Hunting Club.
