Charles “Charlie” Wilson Clarke, 83, passed away Monday, December 25, 2023, in Milford, Delaware. Charlie was born March 4, 1940, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Linus and Florence “Tip” Clarke. He grew up in Mt. Rainer, Maryland. Graduated from Northwestern High School and attended Gallaudet University. He had a career as an auto mechanic and was known in the Deaf community as the “mustache-mechanic”. Prior to moving to Delaware, he was a longtime resident of Landover Hills, Maryland. He was a lifelong fan of the Washington Redskins, enjoyed his model train collection, and making home improvements. Charlie accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior as a young adult and looked forward to his home in Heaven. He was predeceased by his daughter, Ruth Usher, son, Linus, and grandson, Brett.
He leaves behind his wife, Barbara, his son Jeff (Erica), his brother, Bill (Jane), and his 7 grandchildren: Anthony, Jesse,
Alec, Violet, Chris, J.P., and Maddie “Tip”.
The visitation was held at Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford, DE on Saturday, January 6, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00a.m., followed by services at 11:00 a.m. Interment ceremony was held immediately after the service.
