Carole A. Warrington

Carole A. Warrington, 89, of Camden, DE formerly of Milford, DE passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at the Brookdale Senior Living, Dover. Carole was born in La Crosse, WI, the daughter of the late Arnold and Alma (Anderson) Christopherson. Early in her life, she worked at several department stores. She then began working as an insurance coordinator, starting with Country Pride in Milford, and stayed on with the company for many years and through business name transitions until retiring from Perdue. She was a member of Reformation Lutheran Church, Milford, where she was active in the church choir, Vacation Bible School and after retirement, Carole worked at Kid's Inc., a daycare located at Reformation Lutheran Church. She also volunteered for the Milford School District Mentor Reading Program. She attended Millford Senior Center and the Modern Maturity Day Break Program in Dover.

Carole was also a staunch Democrat and was active in the Democratic Party. She attended several marches in Washington, DC throughout her life, as well as volunteered as a poll worker at election time. She also participated in a small group of friends that met at the Walmart Dunkin Donuts in Milford, known as The Obama Mamas. She traveled throughout the world and loved every minute of it. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bill Warrington and a grandson Caleb Atkinson.

She is survived by two daughters Christine A. Warren and Candace Rivera; two sons Michael Atkinson (Tracie) and William Atkinson; grandchildren Michael, Jenna, Ben, Sarah, Ryan, Kelsie, and Jessica; as well as great grandchildren Connor, Silas, Leona, and Gabriel.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 pm  on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at the Reformation Lutheran Church, 613 Lakeview Avenue, Milford. Family requests no flowers be sent. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made First State Animal Center and SPCA, 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934 or ACT Signature Hospice,726 Loveville Rd, Suite 3000, Hockessin, Delaware, 19707.
