Bruce Harrison Obituary

Bruce Douglas Harrison, 67, of Milford, DE passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at Bayhealth Sussex Campus, Milford with his loving wife at his side. Bruce was born in San Antonio, TX, the son of Robert Daniel Harrison and the late Virginia Earle (Murphy) Harrison. He enlisted in the U.S. Marines and proudly served his country. Following his tour of duty, Bruce went to work at the Paramont chicken processing plant in Harbeson, working as a cage repairman. He then worked for the Perdue chicken procession plant in Milford as a forklift driver. While at Perdue, Bruce took on a second job and worked at night at the local Milford Walmart in the sporting goods department. He worked at both places up until he had to retire on disability in 2007. He was a member of the C.K.R.T. American Legion Post #7 in Harrington. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was an avid deer hunter. He also repaired rod and reels for a longtime. Bruce was an avid baseball card collector and loved watching baseball and rooting for his Baltimore Orioles as well as an avid Washington Redskins fan.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years Donna; his children Dana Shrieves, David Hughes, and a granddaughter he raised as his own daughter Taylor Hughes; two grandchildren Chloe Hughes and Brian Pogats; a great granddaughter Amiyah Jackson; and his brothers and sisters Robbie Harrison, Darlene Harrison, Russell Harrison and Bobbi Mondulick.

A viewing will be held from 11 am to 12 noon on Friday, June 25, 2021 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford where funeral services will follow at 12 noon officiated by his brother Rev. Robert Harrison. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Milford - Harrington Highway, Harrington. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O.
