Betty P. Simpson Winebrenner

Betty P. Simpson Winebrenner, 97, a lifelong resident of Harrington, DE passed away peacefully at the Kutz Home, Wilmington after a long illness. Betty was born in Harrington, DE the daughter of the late Edwin and Helen (Clifton) Prettyman. She worked for the State of Delaware as a clerk in the State Insurance Office for many years before retiring. Betty was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, Harrington. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband Francis “Albert” Simpson in 2001, her second husband Guy Winebrenner in 2011 and a niece Lorrie Prettyman.

She is survived by her son Dr. David Simpson his wife Gail; her granddaughter Risa Simpson; her brother Kenneth Prettyman and his wife Ruth; two nieces Cheryl Smith and Amy Evans and her nephew Thomas Prettyman.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the Asbury United Methodist Church, 200 Weiner Avenue, Harrington where friends may call from 10 – 11 am. Burial will be in Milford Community Cemetery, Rt. 113, Milford. Arr. by McKnatt, Carpenter & Baker Funeral Home, Harrington.
