Alice Elizabeth Reed, of Milford, DE passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 11, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Eulith Watkins Gillian of Baltimore, MD. Alice retired after 30 years as a teacher in the Maryland and Delaware education systems. She enjoyed retirement traveling throughout the country with her husband Charles, and sharing her outstanding talent in arts and crafts with friends and family. One of her proudest art accomplishments was winning the 2006 White House Easter Egg Contest for the State of Delaware. She had the honor of meeting First Lady Laura Bush at the White House. In 2007 she entered again, and won second place. Alice also was a volunteer at the Milford Public Library and enjoyed joining her friends bowling at the Milford Lanes. In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her brother Joe Gillian of Baltimore, MD and her first husband James Rudelmier of Bridgeville, DE.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years Charles R. Reed; her brother Charles Gillian (Linda) of Baltimore, MD; three stepdaughters, Kathy Hamstead (Norman) of Milford, Alisa West (Jack) of Georgetown, and Terry Wilkins (Robert) of Seaford, and their families. (6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren).
Services will be private and at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions may be sent in memory of Alice to the Milford Public Library, 11 S.E.
