Stella Payne Obituary



Stella Anne Payne, 97, of Milford, DE passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 9 at Seasons Hospice in Newark, DE. Stella was born in East Chicago, Indiana, the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Pyikarciek) Maslowicz. Anne served in the U.S. Army Air Forces as a Registered Nurse in the 816th Medical Air Evacuation Squadron during W.W. II. She flew over to Normandy for D Day Plus One. Anne was a homemaker who loved gardening. But most important to Anne, was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, Anne was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years George L. Payne, Sr; her sons George L. Payne, Jr. and James S. Payne; as well as two brothers, Tony Maslowicz and John Maslowicz.
 
She is survived by two sons, Robert J. Payne (Barbara G.) and Thomas E. Payne (Mimi); two daughters, Donna L. Duval (Louis J.) and Patricia A. Payne (Charles Wittnam); 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
