Pauline Tatman Obituary

 

Pauline H. Tatman, 87, of Harrington, DE passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, February 28, 2018. Pauline was born in Sandtown, DE the daughter of the late Alvin and Mabel (Kemp) Hughes. She graduated from Milford Memorial School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse in the Coronary Care Unit at Milford Hospital for many years before retiring. She was a member of Pilgrim Chapel and both the Harrington and Frederica Senior Centers. Most important to Polly was her family, for she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Alton Tatman in 1990 and infant grandson, Sean Tatman.

She is survived by her children Michael Tatman (Debra), Judith Ebling (Garry), Mark Tatman and Paula Sapp (Charles); one brother Eugene Hughes (Diana), one sister Loretta Poore; 8 grandchildren,2 great grandchildren; and her faithful neighbors who helped care for her during her illness, Debbie Slaughter and Joyce Lake.

At Pauline’s request, services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to either Vitas Hospice, 100 Commerce Drive, Ste. 302, Newark, DE 19713 or to Pilgrim Chapel, 4792 Milford Harrington Highway, Harrington, DE  19952.
