Jennie Washington Ratliff

Jennie Washington Ratliff, age 54, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2019. Born in Milford, Delaware on July 2nd, 1964, Jennie lived most of her life in the Milford area.

Jennie was a pure hearted soul who always wanted others to be happy. One of her best qualities was her sense of humor and the ability to make people laugh with her keen sarcasm and total honesty.  Jennie loved the beach and taking in the sunrises on her back porch.  Her devotion in helping others was evident throughout her many hours of service in organizations that helped children with cancer and recently becoming president of the Milford VFW Post 6483 auxiliary.

Jennie is survived by her father and mother, George Washington (Bowers Beach) and Sarah Washington (Lincoln), her son and his wife, Tyler and Valerie Washington (Lincoln) her grandson, Christopher Washington, brothers, David Washington (Lincoln) William Washington (Lincoln), sister Shirly Morris (Dover) and other family members.

There is some comfort knowing that Jennie is now reunited with her beloved husband Brian, and her two older brothers, Buddy and Chris.

A visitation will be held from 12 – 2 pm April 2nd, 2019 at Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford, DE where a funeral service will be held at 2 pm. Burial will follow in Milford Community Cemetery.

A celebration of life will commence after the funeral at the Milford VFW Post 6483.
