NEWARK – Emilene Adams Hill passed away on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018.
She was born July 26, 1948, the daughter of the late Emile Simpson Adams and Grace Smith Adams, of Harrington, Delaware.
Emilene lived in Harrington all her life until 2015, when she relocated to Newark in order to be close to her son and grandchildren. She worked in Harrington for many years in Quality Control at CT Films and Huntsman Packaging.
Emilene had many friends, but she was happiest when she was spending time with her grandchildren, whether taking them shopping or to the movies, or teaching them how to cook. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, an excellent cook, and a lover of animals, especially of wolves.
She is survived by her son, William Emile Hill, daughter-in law Catherine Saltern Hill, and two grandchildren, Sarah Grace Hill and Charles Isaac Hill, of Newark; ex-husband William Hill of Dover, cousins Carolyn Porter of Harrington, James Smith of Milford, and Janice Bowman of Greenwood; and many dear friends.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Hollywood Cemetery in Harrington, Delaware.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the SPCA or the American Heart Association.
Arrangements by McKnatt, Carpenter & Baker Funeral Home, Harrington. Letters of condolence may be sent to the family at www.loflandandmcknatt.com
