Daniel Palmer Anstine, Jr. (Danny), 75, of Houston, DE passed away peacefully at home on October 17, 2018.
He was born February 28, 1943 in Milford, DE to Daniel Palmer Anstine, Sr., of Cambridge, MD and Margaret Ann Anstine (nee Manlove) of Milford. After his father returned from WWII, Danny and his family moved to Houston, DE, where he grew up. He is a graduate of Milford High School and the University of Delaware. In 1964 Danny married Lynda Hughes, whom he met in college. He served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam Conflict from 1967-68. Returning home, he lived and worked in New Castle County with his growing family. In 1973 Danny moved his family to Houston, DE. Danny is best known for owning the Williamsville Country Store, which he and Lynda purchased in 1978. He enjoyed interacting with the customers and worked in the store until they sold the store to George Pechin, a close family friend, in 2002.
Danny was preceded in death by his father, mother and younger brother, George Thomas Anstine of Berlin, MA. He is survived by his wife, Lynda, daughter, Jenifer and son in law Kevin Warren, daughter Michele and her partner Keith Duncan, and grandsons, Finn and Connor Warren.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 18th at 1 pm at Griffith’s Chapel, Williamsville, Delaware. Friends may call on the family immediately after the service, from 2-4 pm at the Anstine home in Williamsville.
