Barbara Rodriguez-Velez, 74, of Harrington, DE went home to rest in the arms of Jesus on Monday, October 30, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family and friends. Barbara was born June 28, 1943 in Cheswold, DE the daughter of the late John and Lillian (Durham) Coker. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Kimberly Yvonne Sammons in 2002, a granddaughter Cheyenne, brothers Donald, LeRoy and Nelson Coker and sisters Monica Coker and Eleanor McKinney.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 31 years Domingo Rodriguez-Velez of Harrington; son Perry (Billy) W. Sammons III and his wife Julie of Dover; four brothers Eddie Coker and his wife Lorraine of Dover, Jackie Coker and his wife Helen of Felton, Steven Coker of Cheswold and Rick Coker and his wife Candy of Hartly; one sister JoAnn Moore of Gatesville, TX; three granchildren Brett Sammons, Dustin Sammons and Shiloh Hackett; a host of nieces and nephews; special friends of the family Robert and Anna Hamblin and thier daughter Julie Seal and her family; as well as many other cherished friends.

Barbara held many jobs over the years working at the pickle factory in Kenton, Leads in Smyrna, Metal Craft, as well as she cleaned houses for a number of years. She was a devoted member of the Lighthouse Christian Center of Milford, where she sang in the choir and was head of the church's Ladies Auxiliary. She also loved gardening, cooking, and doing arts and crafts. She enjoyed walking and also going shopping for antiques. 

A viewing will be held from 10 - 11 am on Friday, November 3, 2017 at the Lighthouse Christian Center, 347 Calvary Road, Milford where funeral services will be held at 11 am. Burial will be in Cheswold Cemetery, Cheswold, DE. Arr. by Lofland Funeral Home, Milford, DE.
