Zelma Eloise Nicholas, 87 of Milford, DE.
Our angel, Zelma Nicholas, 87, was set free from this world on September 29th. Zelma grew up during the depression in Oran, Missouri and Portland, Oregon. She majored in Art at Marylhurst University before joining the United States Air Force during the Korean War. There she met and married her beloved husband of 64 years and had 4 children. Later she graduated with a Masters degree from Villanova University. But Zelma's passion was art and her work became nationally recognized for oil, stained glass, porcelain dolls, jewelry, and metal. She was a master gardener and consummate volunteer for garden clubs, hospitals, schools, museums, community groups, and art leagues. She loved color, nature, animals, travel, and people and had an absolute zest for life. Zelma was a pure and beautiful human being and her spirit will be deeply missed by everyone that she touched. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her memory to the Prime Hook National Wildlife Federation or to Christ Church of Milford. Arrangements by Lofland Funeral Home, Milford. Letters of condolence may be sent and shared with the family at www.loflandandmcknatt.com.
