His last assignment was at the National Science Foundation in Arlington, VA where he retired in 2012.

The main house that he bowled in was located in Crofton, MD for over 20 years then in Millsboro, DE until his illness. For over 20 years, Bill also would go to Las Vegas, NV every year to bowl in the Military Tournament. Later on, Bill worked in the Pro Shop, known as "Kegler's Corner" at the Brunswick Bowling Lanes in Dover. Part of his legacy is his passion for bowling that he passed down to his children.

Having been born and raised in Buffalo, NY, Bill was also an avid Buffalo Bills fan. He had been a season ticket holder for over 20 years and was in charge of running the weekly tailgate party at the "Big Tree Inn", where he was known as "Baltimore Billy". In his spare time, Bill also would occasionally play a round of golf.
