Manuel Magalhaes

Manuel Magalhaes, 57, of Milford, DE passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018 at home after succumbing to his battle with Metastatic Lung Cancer. Manuel was born in Portugal, the son of Jose De Magalhaes and the late Ana Magalhaes. He worked as an Ocean Export Coordinator for Caseth Logistics for 15 years. He attended St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Milford. His passion was watching and playing soccer and was an avid fan of the Porto Soccer Club. He also enjoyed boating, camping and spending time with family especially his new granddaughter Mia.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years Lucy Magalhaes; two daughters Stephanie Shirhall and her husband William Shirhall of Chalfont, Pa; and Monica Magalhaes and her boyfriend Peter Mulligan of Easton, Pa; one granddaughter Mia Luciana Shirhall; one sister Maria E. Monteiro; one brother Albino Magalhaes; and his beloved Yorkie “Bella”.

A viewing will be held from 6 – 8 pm on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11 am on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 506 Seabury Avenue, Milford. Burial will follow in Milford Community Cemetery, Rt. 113, Milford. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE  19963, or Delaware Youth Soccer Association, 222 Benjamin Boulevard, Bear, De 19701.
