Lt. Stephen Patrick Reid, 49, of Milford, DE formerly of New Port Richey, FL died suddenly on Friday, September 30, 2016. Stephen was born in Warner Robins, GA the son of the late Marvin and Virginia (Tobin) Reid. Stephen served as a Fire Lieutenant for the City of New Port Richey until having to retire on disability due to illness in 2003. During his tenure with the fire department, Stephen was very ambitious and advanced very quickly through the ranks, attaining the rank of Lieutenant at a young age. He also served on the State of Florida Type 2 Light Technical Rescue Team (LTRT) and was deployed to assist in the rescue and recovery mission following the September 11th terrorist attack and subsequent collapse of the World Trade Center in New York City. He was also one of many firefighters who were the proud recipients of an award from then Governor Jeb Bush of Florida for their actions during the brush fires that inundated Florida. Stephen was also a certified arson investigator. No doubt, Stephen was a smart, inquisitive man that was also pursuing new opportunities in different fields. When he was not involved with his firefighting duties, Stephen also owned and operated his own private investigator company called "Invest-to-Mate."  He was allowed to pursue a team that would shadow him on his PI duties.  Owning his own company, he was the president, had a Vice President and Treasure.

He is survived by his wife Jennifer Lisa (David) Reid; three children Stephen P. Reid, Jr.,  Levi Christian Reid and Hannah Rose Reid; one stepson Christopher Yonek; and two sisters Brenda Reid Wyllins and Susan Tuttle. And his father-in-law, Dr. L.David

A viewing for Lt. Reid will be held from 1 - 3 pm on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford, where a funeral service will be held at 3 pm.
