June H. Lekites, 87, of Felton, DE passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford surrounded by her loving family and friends. June was born in Felton, DE the daughter of the late George Hill, Jr. and Viola (Ryan) Hill. She worked as a secretary for Peoples Bank then Wilmington Trust Bank in Harrington for several years. June was a member of the 25 year Century Club for Wilmington Trust. She also was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, the Century Club, the C.K.R.T. American Legion Post #7, the Harrington Moose Lodge #534, the Pennsylvania Veteran Railroad Association and the Harrington Senior Center where she enjoyed playing cards. She was very artistic and loved to paint and   crochet. She loved watching TV and enjoyed watching Lawrence Welk on Sunday nights and her soap operas. She also enjoyed NASCAR, and was a fan of Jeff Gordon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Walter G. Lekites, Jr., a grandson Michael Todd Deering and her beloved dog Toto.

She is survived by 2 daughters Cheryl Deering and her husband George of Camden and Carol Hammond and her husband Randy, of Felton; 1 son Walter G. (Dubby) Lekites and his wife Kathy of Camden; 3 grandchildren David Lekites, Walter G. Lekites IV and his wife Jennifer; and Megan Davis and her husband Dylan; great grandchildren Nathan Lekites, Luke Lekites,  Ellie Lekites and Keegen Davis as well as her beloved dog Tinkerbell.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Monday, May 2, 2016 at the McKnatt, Carpenter & Baker Funeral Home, 50 Commerce Street, Harrington, DE where friends may call from 12 - 2 pm. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Trinity United Methodist Church, 63 Commerce Street, Harrington, DE  19952.
