Message from Dr. Gerald W. Thompson

When John began at Milford High School, he was assigned to my section of the building. This included a number of classrooms plus my band and chorus rooms. They were large rooms with lots of chairs and music stands. The first night on the job I met John who explained the work load he had and asked if I would have patience with his work until he "got the hang of it". The band room was carpet which added additional time to his task. I told him forget the two rooms and just do them on Monday nights, for the band returned to the rooms after the football games and would ruin his accomplishment. I would see to it that the students maintained the rooms through the week! He looked like he had just won the lottery!! He and I had a wonderful friendship up until I left in 1999. What a great gentleman, enjoyed his job, and our friendship. RIP my good friend. I'll see you again.
