Edwina “Eddie” Emery Layton, 83, longtime resident of Milford, DE died peacefully on Thursday, September 21, 2017 in Washington, DC. Eddie was born in St. Francis, Maine and relocated to her Delaware home in the 1940’s. Married to the late Caesar Rodney Layton, she raised four children and worked many years as an accountant for the family business and Baltimore Aircoil Company. Eddie loved gardening, books and vintage French music. In addition to her father and mother and her Sister Judith Nadeau, she was preceded in death by her three children Lauren Copans, Peter Layton and Barbara Cheyney.

Edwina is survived by her son Caesar Rodney Layton of Washington, DC, his wife Nitara, as well as two sisters Freida Chase and Shelia Deabay and several wonderful grandchildren.

A Celebration of Eddie’s life will be held at 1pm Sunday, September 24, 2017 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Ave, Milford. In lieu of flowers and her love of her “granddog” Luchu, the Family suggest contributions to the Lucky Dog Animal Rescue, 5159 Lee Highway, Arlington, VA 22207.
