Christopher Orlando Bryan Sr, 88, of Lincoln, DE, formerly of Brandywine MD, passed away peacefully on Monday December 18, 2017 surrounded by family.  Christopher was born in College Park MD, the son of the late Orlando and Mary (Flaherty) Bryan.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 26 years, Kathleen (Carrick) Bryan, his children; Christopher (Gayle) Bryan Jr, Maura (Charles) Clagett, Teresa Ann Downs, Sheila (Michael) Klotz, Bonita (Randy) Ramey, Mary (David) Shelton, Grace (Mark) Constantino, Susan (Robert) Goldbeck, Sharon (Daniel) Gotimer and Kimberly (Robert) Robles, 34 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.  Christopher is also survived by 3 sisters, Catherine Thibodeau, Josephine Bryan SP  and Pauline Duff.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son Joseph Anthony, brother John William Bryan and sisters Mary Manual, Anne Buckley, and several beloved family members.

Christopher attended Holy Redeemer Catholic School (College Park MD), Hyattsville High School, University of Maryland and The University of Baltimore School of Law. He was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Navy from 1948-1951 aboard the USS Missouri. His career successes include Captain in the Prince Georges County Police Department and Chief of Security, NASA at Goddard Space Flight Center before establishing his private law practice in Upper Marlboro, MD. He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Milford, DE, member and past president of the Holy Name Society, Past Worshipful Master and Past Right Worshipful Master of the Centennial Lodge #174 in Upper Marlboro, MD, past Commander of American Legion Post #227 in Brandywine MD, a life member of V.F.W. Post #7234 in Ocean View DE and a life member of American Legion Post #28 in Millsboro, DE.

Friends and family may visit Wednesday December 27, 2017 at Kneeling Point Church, 9690 Shepherds Creek Place, LaPlata, MD.  2-4pm and 6-8pm (3:30pm Masonic Memorial Prayer Service - open to all). Mass of Christian Burial is Thursday December 28th at 11am, Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 4902 Berwyn Road, College Park, MD.  Interment will follow on a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.

Flowers may be sent to the Kneeling Point Church or Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mr. Bryan’s honor to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
