Andrew Adamshick, 89, of Milford, DE passed away suddenly Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Milford Memorial Hospital, Bayhealth Medical Center. Mr. Adamshick was born in Pleasant Mount, PA the son of the late Paul and Fannie (Yanoshak) Adamshick. Andrew served in the U.S. Navy during W.W.II, and was assigned to the USS Rudyard Bay (CVE 81), a baby aircraft carrier in the Pacific Fleet. After the war, Andrew worked as a truck driver for Anheuser Busch for 25 years before retiring in 1990. He was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Milford. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in both Virginia and Delaware and had the privilege of serving as Grand Knight twice, once in each state. He was a member of the Salvation Army in Virginia, served at the Food Bank in both Virginia and Delaware and was a member of the Kiwanis Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and also took great pride in doing the electrical work at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church for the Annual Octoberfest Celebration every year. Andrew also an avid craftsman, and was very good at designing and making items.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years Joan (Zilliox) Adamshick; his children Carol L. Staats and her husband John, Andrew A Adamshick, Mark H. Adamshick and his wife Stephanie, Gregory P. Adamshick and his wife Deanna, Irene R. Sheridan and Mary T. Karlowski and her husband John; and his 12 grandchildren.


Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11 am on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 506 Seabury Avenue, Milford where a viewing will be held from 10 am to 10:45 am. Burial will be in Delaware Veteran Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O.
