Alexander E. Kotwas, 85, of Milford, DE, formerly of New Windsor, NY, passed away Friday, September 4, 2015 at home. Mr. Kotwas was born in Manhattan, NY, the son of the late Francis and Sophie (Majewska) Kotwas. He worked for I.B.M. for 29 years before retiring in 1989. Alexander was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Milford. He was an avid bowler in both New York and Delaware. While in Delaware, he could be found bowling 3 - 4 days a week at the Milford Bowling Lanes. Alexander had the privilege of being inducted into the Newburgh Bowling Association Hall of Fame for his Meritorious Service and was also enshrined in the American Bowling Congress Hall of Fame in St. Louis, MO. He loved to travel and to read as well as being an avid history buff. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Dolores Kotwas in 1991, as well as several brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife Sallyann Mancini; his children Diane Wilson and her husband John of Maybrook, NY; Kathryn Wawrzonek and her husband Daniel, of Pomona, NY; Matthew Kotwas, of Austin, TX and Paul Kotwas and his wife Denise, of Penfield, NY; two grandchildren Stephanie Wilson and her husband Adam Schwaber, of Arlington, VA and Sean Wilson, of Portland, OR; one great granddaughter Julia Schwaber ; Sallyann's 6 children and their spouses, 16 grandchildren and their spouses, and 7 great-grandchildren; as well as three step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 10:30 - 11:30 am on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 12 noon on Tuesday, September 8, at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 506 Seabury Avenue, Milford. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor, NY. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
