Albert J. Pinkerton, Sr., 79, of Milford, DE passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017 in New Castle, DE. Albert was born in Rockledge, PA the son of the late John and Jessie Pinkerton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. After serving in the Navy, Albert enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard, serving in the Air and Sea Rescue Division until his retirement in 1980. He then continued his education by graduating from the Richard Stockton College in Pomona, NJ with a B.S. Degree in Math and Physics. Following his graduation, Albert worked at the Cape May County Vocational Technical High School in Cape May Courthouse, NJ, retiring in 2000. After moving to Delaware, Albert began working with the Delaware Nature Society as a Naturalist/Instructor at Abbott's Mill Nature Center in Milford. During his tenure there, he enjoyed teaching "Fabulous Fish", a class on how to dissect a fish. He was a member of Temple Lodge #9 AF & AM of Milford, and was also a shriner. He enjoyed doing puzzles and Sudoku.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years Herma (Britsch) Pinkerton and his son Albert J. Pinkerton, Jr.

A viewing will be held from 7 - 8 pm on Tuesday evening, March 28, 2017 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford where a Masonic Service will be held at 8 pm. Burial will be private. Letters of condolence may be sent and shared with the family at www.loflandandmcknatt.com.
